2019 Anatomage Table

Anatomage Table

In November 2019, the Foundation approved its latest major project, the Anatomage Table. A cutting-edge addition to Barrington High School’s life sciences curriculum, the Anatomage Table provides students with the opportunity to collaboratively investigate, compare and analyze ‘normal’ and ‘abnormal’ anatomy. It also allows exploration of histology through the use of computerized tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans, 3D images, medical case notes and 4D scans where students can see movement such as beating hearts and respiration.

The table will provide biology and health science teachers opportunities to engage students with a truly hands-on experience in which highly accurate human anatomy is brought to life with 3D visualization tools and interactive testing. With this funding from the Foundation, Barrington High School will be among very few high schools in Illinois to have this highly desirable technology.

Not only is the table an amazing piece of technology that will provide endless interactive learning opportunities for BHS students, but it is also an important element in our efforts to support a robust curriculum that enhances the health sciences technology career pathway.
