2024-2025 Helping Hand and Impact Grants

Each year, the Barrington 220 Educational Foundation awards grants to our district educators to implement projects in the classroom and/or school that encourage curiosity, inspire students' passion for learning, and provide enriching opportunities. Thanks to the incredible generosity of alumni, individuals, and businesses, the Barrington 220 Educational Foundation awarded 24 grants, totaling over $41,000, to 220 Staff for the 2024-2025 school year.

Who Can Apply?
All EDUCATORS employed by Barrington 220 who are involved in the instruction of students, club sponsors, or any related support services benefiting students are eligible to apply. Additional information about criteria and requirements can be found within the application.

What is a Helping Hand Grant?
Helping Hand Grants lend a “helping hand” in the form of funds to implement a small-scale project in the classroom and/or school that enhances student learning experiences. Maximum request amount is $1000.

What is an Impact Grant?
Impact Grants provide funding for educators to implement a large-scale project in the classroom, department, and/or school to bring innovative ideas, concepts, or practices to life. Teachers and administrators have the opportunity to conceptualize and then try new things that bring learning to the next level to make an impact. Maximum request amount is $5000.

How are Recipients Selected and Awarded?
The Grant Review Committee, under the guidance of the Barrington 220 Educational Foundation, will review the Helping Hand and Impact Grant applications on a competitive basis and recommend a select number of grants to the Barrington 220 Educational Foundation Trustees for approval. Grants for the 2024-2025 school year were awarded in December 2024.

Can I Apply for a Helping Hand and Impact Grant?
Applicants may apply for both grants, but not for the same project.

When are Applications Due?
The 2024-2025 application period is closed. Please check back in Fall 2025.

$1,000 per Helping Hand grant
$5,000 per Impact grant
