Meet Trustee Priti Mehta
Eight years ago, Priti felt a calling. While working in Barrington District 220 and having two daughters in the district, Priti was approached by a few friends about joining the Foundation.
“I talked to them extensively about the mission of the Foundation and realized it was like a calling for me,” Priti said. “I couldn’t decline an offer to serve the community via the Foundation.”
Priti currently works as the vice co-chairperson of resource development with Joe Schauenberg. In this position, Priti has engaged in fundraising activities such as the now biennial golf outing. With the return of this event in the summer of 2021 — christened “Golf Fore 220” — Foundation trustees and community members will again be able to tee off to benefit the students of District 220.
Along with the golf outing, Priti also is involved with the holiday and spring teacher tributes. These tributes take place each December and May when parents can recognize their child’s teacher through a donation and recognition to the teacher and district. The donations from these tributes help the Foundation fund grants for teachers and staff such as the Projects of Innovation and Enhancement (PIE) grants and the Helping Hands grants.
Through these programs, Priti helps the Foundation year round.
“I am grateful to the Foundation for giving me the opportunity to make a difference,” Priti said.
